Acesur has sustainable growth as one of its fundamental objectives in its strategic plan, continuing to respond to market needs by offering healthy products prepared in a way that leaves the least possible footprint on the environment.
Acesur’s production plants have reduced their emissions by 17.21% in the last five years. This reduction in emissions takes place in a context of great growth for the group, which is reflected in an increase of 82% in the extraction of seeds, 123% in the production of olive oil in our oil mills or 120% in our refineries.
Many measures have made this reduction in emissions feasible: energy analyzes to reduce consumption in the packaging process; reducing the weight of packaging or optimizing transport routes.
The main objective of the investments that Acesur is making is to achieve processes that are more efficient, as in the restructuring Dos Hermanas bottling plant. This has made it possible that despite the 30% increase in its packaging volume in this period of time, its emissions have been reduced thanks to the greater efficiency of the lines installed.
Acesur, having made significant progress in recent years making its process as sustainable as possible, in 2022, can reach a turning point once the projects planned for the first half of this year are launched. For example, such as the installation of a biomass boiler at our plant in Vilches (Jaén) or the start-up of photovoltaic panels in our production centers, which can lead to a 25% increase in the group’s energy self-sufficiency.
