Two of our extra virgin olive oils have been awarded the Gold Medal at the Japan Olive Oil Prize (JOOP), one of the most prestigious competitions in Asia and an international benchmark in the olive oil sector.

They are:

Both products, crafted to the highest quality standards, are available in the Japanese market, where their flavor, aroma, and healthy profile have won over an increasingly discerning and knowledgeable consumer.

Spanish olive oil gains ground in Japan

Japan has become one of the most interesting markets for olive oil. Although its traditional diet is based on other types of fats, interest in Mediterranean products has grown significantly over the past decade. According to ICEX data, in 2024 Japan imported more than 34,000 tons of Spanish olive oil, making it the second-largest consumer of this product in Asia.

The Japanese consumer values natural, functional products with a story behind them. That’s why extra virgin olive oil has gained strong traction, especially when it comes from long-standing brands like La Española or Villa Blanca, which ensure quality, traceability, and respect for origin.

A recognition that strengthens our international presence

Winning gold at the JOOP is a key boost in reinforcing our position in the Asian market. These awards not only confirm the quality of our products, but also highlight our commitment to excellence at every stage of the process — from the olive grove to the table.

We remain dedicated to making Spanish olive oil a symbol of flavor, health, and trust around the world.
